Who we are
A community for people from Gujranwala District, Pakistan, who have made Denmark their home.
Gujranwala Denmark Community brings together people from Gujranwala District, Pakistan, who live in Denmark. We stay connected, help new arrivals settle in, share news and opportunities, and celebrate our culture together. Whenever we can, we help each other with finding jobs and housing and with getting started in Denmark, and we share each other’s joys and sorrows.
Four times a year we hold an annual members’ meeting where the members decide on the community’s plans. Between those meetings, members host gatherings where members and their friends can meet: Eid Milan, family dinners, sports and more. We also arrange trips together, like our trip to Berlin.
Everyone from the Gujranwala region and their friends are welcome.
A community for everyone
Gujranwala Denmark Community is built on these principles:
Non-political
We are not linked to any political party or movement, and we do not take part in political campaigns. Political discussions are kept out of our meetings and pages.
Non-religious and non-sectarian
We are not a religious organisation and do not belong to any sect. We respect everyone’s faith and beliefs, and keep religious and sectarian debates out of the community.
Open to everyone
Everyone is equally welcome, regardless of gender, skin colour, caste or biradari, religion, sect, age, or social and economic background.
Respect and equality
Every member has the same rights and the same voice. We treat each other with respect and courtesy.
Belongs to everyone
The community belongs to all its members, not to one person or a few. No one may use their membership or position in the committee to gain personal influence or for private purposes.
